Then and Now.............

As if to underscore my point as to how much children change over the years, Josiah is photographed acting silly during yesterday's family's photo session with his family (thankfully, his sense of humor has not changed). The camera is just a wonderful way to preserve precious memories otherwise lost to time.
Josiah caught us all by surprise when he broke out in laughter during his family's photo session 4 years ago......then, I caught his family by surprise by capturing the moment with my camera....then, they caught me by surprise when they ordered a print of the shot.  Good choice friends!
Almost 4 years ago to the day, Hannah strikes a pose for the photographer.
Yesterday, 4 years later, Hannah strikes an interpretive dance pose for the camera. A deep blue gelled backlight projected on the hand painted muslim achieved the desired effect. In a matter of months Hannah will soon be graduating from school and heading off to college.

Tonight I photographed Gary Bracewell's family.  Gary and his wife Sandra attend the same Sunday school class that I do.  We searched high and low for a good fall foliage location and finally found one. By the time we found it, the light was too directionally harsh.  Needing to buy some extra time, I suggested we wait until the sunset and then I would light the scene entirely with my Alien Bees lights and Vagabond 2 battery pack.  It worked great and we all were able to survive the cold.  Gary and Sandra were great and even assisted in helping to pack up my equipment under the illumination of car headlights.  Thanks for your patience in making this a fun experience!

Tandem skydivers as seen from behind.  The upper set of arms belong to the instructor who is steering the parachute.
A skydiver turns in preparation for landing.
A colors of the parachute contrast with a beautiful November deep blue sky as tandem skydivers maneuver for landing.
A new skydiver will jump in tandem.  With the assistance of an ever watchful experienced instructor controlling the steering, the front jumper raises their feet in preparation for the landing.

A skydiver watches others still in the air.
Chad, an instructor at Skydive The Farm, holds his dog "Flara" after completing a jump. Keenly aware that their masters were returning to earth from a jump, "Flara" and the other dogs headed out to the landing field to greet their owners.
Brian kisses his wife Martie while she grabs a few moments rest during a long day of skydiving.
Having just completed a jump, a group of skydivers hop a ride back from the dropzone on a trailer towed by a pickup truck.
The plane returns to the landing field after making the final run for the day.
